FEATURED HALF BOTTLE OF PRIORAT
Alvaro Palacios, "Finca Dofi", 2018 When the original "gang of v" made their way from Bordeaux back to Kingdom of spain, they came armed with French cognition and Castilian passion. Alvaro Palacios is now considered an elderberry statesman of Priorat after more than 30 vintages with the about successful wines of the region. Finca Dofi is no exception. Grapes are harvested from two single plots, mainly Garnacha, and and so aged in large French foudre. Palacios' expression of the grape and the state are in line with the power, beauty, and finesse that makes Priorat a region to keep an center on. 137

FEATURED VINTAGE CHAMPAGNE
Veuve Fourny et Fils, "Monts de Vertus", Blanc de Blancs, 2014 Champagne is passion. On one hand information technology is a beverage that seamlessly represents celebration for many, and on the other is one of the most meticulously handled wine products on Earth. At Veuve Fourny the care goes from vineyard to cellar, from hand harvest to minimal fining and filtering, and the result is a Champagne of the highest quality and finesse. The Fourny family is now in its fifth generation to tend the land at Vertus Premier Cru. Although they are brothers at the helm, they are first accomplices and look to their complementary strengths to motility the winery forrard 227

FEATURED CHARDONNAY
DuMol, "Isobel", Sonoma Coast, 2019 If you are looking for peachy California Chardonnay, then await no further than the Charles Heintz Vineyard. The Heintz family has farmed the aforementioned coastal ridgeline in western Sonoma County for 100 years, and Charles is the 3rd generation farmer of Heintz Ranch. DuMol has been sourcing grapes from these former vines for 17 years, and their "Isobel" is a perfect expression of this site. New World power combined with cool, coastal terroir? Sounds like a recipe for success. 196

FEATURED SANCERRE
Domaine Vacheron, 2020 The Vacheron family unit name in Sancerre is viticultural royalty. Three generations agone the family took over their first vineyards. As their family grew so did the pedigree of their bottlings. From humble ancestry by then patriarchs Denis & Jean-Louis, the estate at present boasts all biodynamic farming, hand harvests, and some of the finest vineyards in Sancerre. Information technology is not a wine trying to reinvent Sancerre, simply to exist an elevated version of the classic fashion. 131

FEATURED MÂCON-VERZÉ
Domaine Leflavie, 2019 Tucked away in the Mâconnais region of Southern Burgundy, this tiny commune has a population of less than 800 people, and only four country roads leading in and out. However the vineyards date back centuries, and the Leflaive family has been using their expertise to cultivate their 5 plots of Chardonnay hither since 2003. The Mâcon-Verzé is a wine of keen purity, both floral and mineral, expressing a lively energy, set to be enjoyed earlier than some of its Burgundian counterparts. 187

High german Riesling
FEATURED GERMAN RIESLING
Joh. Jos. Prüm, "Graacher Himmelreich", Kabinett, 2020 Joh. Jos. Prüm is a family unit-run winery that dates back to 1911. Currently in its fourth generation of winemakers, Dr. Manfred Prüm has been at the helm of the estate for the past 50 years. Graach is a village in the Mosel wine region of Germany. The vineyards of Graach are planted on a southwest-facing hillside that overlooks the Mosel River, providing ample exposure to the afternoon lord's day for enhanced ripening potential. Graacher Himmelreich (translates to "Kingdom of Heaven") is a single vineyard at the very acme of the hillside with soils of weathered clay and blue slate. Finally, Kabinett indicates that the Riesling grapes were picked just a touch on later on than a dry out wine, meaning that this wine has a honeyed sweet balanced past zippy green apple and wet stones. 138

FEATURED GREEK WHITE
Ktima Gerovassiliou, Malagousia, 2019 When y'all enjoy a bottle of this Malagousia, you're enjoying a revival of a most extinct grape multifariousness from the man who brought ancient history dorsum to life. Proprietor Evangelos Gerovassiliou initiated the revival of the family's vineyards in 1981by planting the almost extinct vine and slowly renovating the ancient land and nearby winery. Today, the property stands as a symbol of the Greek winemaking revival. A nod to the deep history of the region by planting native grape varieties, and a look into the hereafter by building one of the most modernistic facilities to help propel Greek wines on the world'south stage for the time to come. 88

American Syrah
FEATURED SYRAH
Copia, "The Source", Cardinal Coast, 2018 The Central Declension of California is vino'southward Wild West. An anything goes mentality paired with idyllic growing conditions create an environment full of interesting blends & exotic varieties. What if though, 1 were to have this impeccable land & create an iconic wine based on a single varietal? That is the triumph of Copia's "The Source". The wine originates in the Jespersen Ranch Vineyard, which is tucked into the Northeast corner of Edna Valley. Its proximity to the Pacific--less than iv miles--keeps the vineyard cool all year round, which allows the grapes to trickle towards ripeness deep into the fall. Harvested October through November, the paw-sorted & destemmed Syrah then spends an impressive 20 months in French oak before beingness bottled. Although inspired by the Rhône, this bottle should be exemplary of the potential of the Central Coast. 119

FEATURED POMEROL
Château Plince, 2015 This bottling of Château Plince is as powerful as it is seductive and as indulgent as it is pleasurable. Best enjoyed with a few years of age, the stellar 2015 vintage is showing beautifully in the drinking glass. The Moreau family has been working this land for over a century. They are committed to traditional values, while using modern practices for the best possible results: both for the vino and for the Earth. 161

FEATURED FLEURIE
Domaine de Fa, "Roche Guillon", 2019 The confluence of high-cease Burgundy & Beaujolais have non e'er aligned in the public's center. Yet, when famed Rhône winemakers Antoine & Maxime Graillot saw the opprotunity in the granite hillsides of Fleurie, they jumped at the oppprotunity to make a loftier quality vino from Gamay. These famed hillsides are platonic for making a dumbo, all the same crushable example of Beaujolais. In improver to making fresh and lively wines, they are making all the appropriate decisions to keeping their grapes organic, the vineyards biodynamic, and the winery sustiainable. 87

Wines of Domaine de La Romanée-Conti
FEATURED PRODUCER
Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Domaine de la Romanée-Conti: No winery is more famous, or produces such legen...await for it...dary wines in Burgundy than Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. The domaine has been co-endemic by ii families, the de Villaine's & the Roch's/Leroy'southward, since 1942. Aubert de Villaine, a apprehensive, mannerly & highly intelligent homo who is acutely conscious of the history of the domaine & the responsibility he bears towards it, has been the manager & face of the domaine since 1991, when Lalou Bize-Leroy left to focus on her own domaine. Often abbreviated as DRC, the winery makes some of the most exclusive wines in the world. 98% of their vineyard holdings are in Grand Cru vineyards, including their two "monopoles", La Tâche & Romanée-Conti. DRC's wines, for those lucky enough to have tried them, are regarded as the pinnacle of Pinot Noir & Chardonnay

FEATURED CÔTE-RÔTIE
Georges Vernay, "Maison Rouge", 2014 Georges Vernay is on its third generation of family winemakers, and this wine has sealed the deal for the family's well earned fame in the Northen Rhône. Founded in 1937, Francis Vernay was instrumental in establishing major winemaking boundaries for white wine in Condrieu where the winery is located. However, it is his daughter Christine who is making headlines in the present day. The "Maison Rouge" is her homage to the luminescence and density of the fifty year old Syrah vines in the Côte Rotie. Counterbalanced with finesse and power, this wine is all organic, hand harvested, and truly the side by side generation of winemaking in one of the world'due south most classic regions. 333

FEATURED CROZES-HERMITAGE
Domaine Breyton, 2019 Crozes-Hermitage's variable reputation is due to the size of the appellation, non merely massive but littered with a variation of soils, sites, & production methods. Adjacent to the hill of Hermitage, responsible for some of the world's finest Syrah, the wines of Crozes can range from competitive to their neighbor to the west all the way to merely... forgettable. Enter Domaine Breyton by Jacques Breyton, a biodynamic estate dedicated to bottling some of the Rhône'due south most intriguing Syrah. The majority of their grapes are sourced from the domaine itself, with a small amount coming from the libation Northern section of Crozes which adds a welcomed freshness. The combination of soils & sites lead to an extremely unique wine gratuitous from conforming in a traditional style, yet somehow dramatically classical to the appellation at large. 99

THE HERMITAGES OF JEAN-LOUIS CHAVE
FEATURED PRODUCER
Jean-Louis Chave If there were a name that was synonymous with the loma of Hermitage, it would exist that of Jean-Louis Chave. The family unit began making Hermitage in 1481, passing downwardly wisdom through the generations to create some of the well-nigh perfectly balanced wines available. Traditionalists to the cadre, the key to the perfect remainder of his wines is the remarkable blending skill. This creates wines of cracking dash, harmony, depth, & aging potential.

FEATURED CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE
Château de la Font du Loup, "Les Damoiselles", 2019 Located at one of the highest points in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Château Font du Loup, which translates to 'fountain of the wolves', is named after the natural springs in the surface area where the wolves would come to drink. Font du Loup has been in the Melia family since 1942 and is now run by the mannerly Anne-Charlotte Melia-Bachas and hubby Laurent. Font du Loup has roughly twenty hectares (organically farmed – although not certified), including holdings in the La Crau vineyards, and is planted on more often than not sandy soil with vines that reach 100 years one-time. It is located in one of the coolest appellation places with slow ripening of the grapes. The wines are fabricated in an elegant, pure, pretty style and are as warm and inviting as the good Anne-Charlotte and Laurent. 138

BARBARESCO
FEATURED BARBARESCO RISERVA
Piazzo, "Vigna Giaia", 2015 The story goes that when the Etruscans were chased out of fundamental Italia to the North by the Romans, they somewhen hid in the dense forests of Alba. The Romans knew vaguely where they were, but could never capture the fleeting tribe in the thick forest. Giving up the hunt the Romans would eventually proper noun the region after the elusive Etruscans they idea to be barbarians: Barbaresco. The wines have always represented the most approachable class of the complex Nebbiolo grape, with softer tannins than their counterpart, Barolo, to the due west. Wines from the region continue to benefit from age & only in the all-time vintages will they be declared Riserva. This about decade-old vino epitomizes the vintage, age-worthiness, & Riserva status completely. 109

Sesta di Sopra, 2016 Simply 400 cases of this one of a kind wine are produced every year. Enrica and Ettore Bandirola planted grape vines in the belatedly 1970'due south at their vacation dwelling in Montalcino, nevertheless, didn't decide to make the wine until their outset vintage in 1999. The result of having a small estate, mature vines, and time to pamper the land is a stunning expression of Sangiovese that is dense, layered, and of exceptional quality. 223

FEATURED "SUPER TUSCAN"
Villa Calcinaia "Casarsa", 2015 Villa Calcinaia is an estate continually operated by the Conti Capponi since 1524. Truly a stalwart of Greve in Chianti, the family makes many expressions of their vines including Chianti, Mammolo, Vin Santo, etc. But nosotros aren't here for those. Nosotros are here for Merlot. Pure, unadulterated, rich, and decadent Tuscan Merlot. Grown on a single vineyard site originally planted in 1967 and so aged in French oak barrels, this wine provides power, finesse, and structure sip afterwards sip. 131

FEATURED RIOJA RESERVA
Remelluri, 2014 The history of this stalwart of Rioja is a fascinating mix of frontwards thinking & honoring a centuries-long legacy. The first reports of winemaking on Remelluri country dates back to the 1300s, when Hieronymite monks tended the vineyards. The site was later abandoned & sat that fashion for hundreds of years until the Rodríguez family purchased the aboriginal state. While the other wineries of Rioja were buying wines & blending them to create a house mode, the Rodríguez family became the outset to champion a new Rioja that focused on the unique terroir of individual vineyards. Traditional practices are still upheld to this twenty-four hours. Grapes are still paw-harvested & ancient artifacts constitute around the vineyards have been restored. Cheers to that! 109

FEATURED ARGENTINEAN MALBEC
Luca, Paraje Altamira, 2019 There is no proper name more synonymous with Argentinean vino than that of the Catena family unit. Luca was founded in 1999 by Dr. Laura Catena, a fourth generation vintner, who joined her father's winery in 1995 afterwards graduating magna cum laude from Harvard & earning her One thousand.D. from Stanford. Presently after, she founded the Catena Plant of Wine with the goal of carrying on her father, Nicolás' vision to put Argentine Malbec on the same level as the all-time wines in the world. Luca, named after her eldest son, was created in social club to show off the greatness of Argentinean wines from rigorously farmed, high altitude, low yield vineyards. 95

FEATURED CHAMPAGNE MAGNUM
Pol Roger, "Réserve", Brut, NV "I cannot live without Champagne. In victory I deserve it; in defeat I need information technology." - Sir Winston Churchill At that place is no better way to mark the end of something truly, monstrously terrible than with a bottle of Champagne. In the mid-20th Century, the British chose to mark the end of Globe War II with one of the nigh iconic Champagne producers, Pol Roger. Sir Winston Churchill was such a fan of the business firm (and personal friend of co-owner Odette Pol-Roger) that his devotion eventually earned him his own eponymous cuvée, the finest e'er offered by Politico Roger. We offer this bottling in magnum in commemoration of the concluding chapter of our own recent & monstrously terrible global upshot. There is merely one thing better than ane bottle of champagne, and that is two bottles of champagne in one. 444
